Cuban Rhythms: Rum & Fun! | G Adventures | Havana to Havana—it’s cultural Cuba combined with white-sand beaches and turquoise ocean and the funky streets of Trinidad.

Yes, Cuba is a spectacular island-country getaway, with sun and sand and cool breezes that invite a laidback beach experience. But, says G Adventures, that’s just crazy: the island also buzzes with energy and culture and music and food. So yes, this trip has beaches and snorkelling, but like Cuba itself, just so much more! From the streets of Trinidad and Old Havana, where the music pours out of open windows, to the beaches at Cayo Levisas and connecting with locals via homestays. A great trip that celebrates both the beauty and cultural vibrancy of Cuba.
Here’s details—but note that G Adventures says it offers many variations on this itinerary. Ask for more info on that.
Itinerary Overview
Day 1 Havana. Arrive at any time, to a stunning city that in 2019 celebrated its 500th anniversary—yes, Havana is 500 years old! On your first night, you connect with your fellow travellers, maybe head out for some live music and a few mojitos at one of Havanna’s iconic spots.
Day 2 Havana/Viñales. You discover the highlights Old Havana on a guided walking tour with your CEO (chief experience officer). Travel through a rich agricultural area en route to Viñales, where both sugarcane and tobacco are grown, and visit a vega (tobacco plantation) to see how those famed Cuban cigars are made. And, you get to practice Spanish via a local homestay!
Day 3 Viñales. Day trip to beautiful Cayo Levisa, an island only accessible by boat. With 3 km of white sand, it’s a perfect spot for snorkelling or just blissing on the beach.
Day 4 Viñales/Playa Larga. Stop at the Bay of Pigs en route for a swim in the beautiful blue water, and opt to go snorkelling.
Day 5 Playa Larga/Trinidad. Travel to the seaside town of Cienfuegos and enjoy time to explore. Continue on to Trinidad, where you get an orientation walk and an afternoon to explore on your own. In the evening—it’s learning-to-salsa-dance time!
Day 6 Trinidad. Enjoy a free day to explore the area. Enjoy a group dinner at a local home.
Day 7Â Trinidad/Havana. Visit the Manaca Iznaga community in the morning, where G Adventures and Planeterra helped create a textiles center that enables women to sell traditional textiles. Stop by Santa Clara en route to Havana and visit important historical sites, including the Che monument. Discover Old Havana on a short walking tour with your CEO.
