In Peru, Jeff Fuchs led our team across spectacular Andes valleys and highlands, in search of Inca history and guided by “ayni,” the Quechua spirit of reciprocity.
In this episode, he heads to explore the history of the “last” rope bridge of the Great Inca Road, which lies over the Apurimac River in Q’eswachaka. Every June, the community gathers over a ceremonial weekend to repair and restring the bridge, in an effort to preserve its story for future generations. Jeff talks to the man who oversees the project, Victoriano, who is a living local legend.
