June 2021: Explore Iceland and Greenland on this 7-day adventure from Kensington Tours. It’s all about the wide-open spaces!
Add a touch of Greenland to your Icelandic tour! This tour takes you across Greenland’s spectacular fjords and Iceland’s stunning lunar-like landscapes, and to both countries’ gloriously wide-open, pristine spaces.
You will tour Iceland from its capital of Reykjavik to its Geysir geothermal fields. You can try snowmobiling into the Icelandic wild, to the languid Langjoekull glacier, all before flying to southern Greenland—a landscape rich with mountains, glaciers, and ice-caps. You’ll take a cruise around Eric’s Fjord to view pristine icebergs, and visit the remoter village of Igaliku, home to the ruins of a Viking cathedral.
Day 1 | Receive an Icelandic welcome package and airport transfer; visit the Sculpture Museum, Hallgrímskirkja Church and National Museum.
Day 2 | Road trip Iceland’s famed Golden Circle in a Super Jeep (about 10 hours) on this small-group, full-day trip out into the wild. You venture into Thingvellir National Park, take in Gullfoss Waterfall, and the Geyser Geothermal Area. Then head out by snowmobile to see Langjökull, the second largest glacier in Iceland.
Day 3 | Tour the South Shore of Seljalandsfoss/Vik with a guide.
Day 4 | Transfer to Reykjavik’s airport for the flight to Ilulissat, Greenland, where you’ll be briefed and welcomed with a Greenland dinner.
Day 5 | Take a panoramic city tour in the morning for full views of Greenland’s vistas; enjoy Illulissat at your own leisure.
Day 6 | Fly back to Iceland after a morning spent discovering and saying goodbye to Greenland’s uniquely stunning views.
Day 7 | Stop off at the famous Blue Lagoon before flying home from Reykjavik.
